Question

In banking, transactions I matched last week are back today for review as duplicates. What is the best way to handle this bug? Is there a reset?

I matched transactions Friday. Monday, the same transactions appear for review in the feed. If I add them, duplicates will be created. I cannot make them go away by Updating the Accounts.

Hi there,

Connecting your bank and credit card accounts to QuickBooks Online is the best way to save time and effort with your bookkeeping, especially when it comes time to reconcile. It's great that you're taking advantage of this awesome feature and adding/matching your transactions to keep QBO updated. If you're noticing duplicate transactions, I'd be happy to explain how to remove them from your account.

If you have duplicate bank transactions, you can exclude it from the transactions downloaded from your bank or financial institution. Here's how: Exclude expenses from downloaded bank transactions.

As explained in this article, you can easily exclude transactions by following these steps:

  1. Select Banking.
  2. On the Banking page, select the For Review tab.
  3. Select the checkboxes of the transactions to exclude.
  4. From the Batch actions drop-down, choose Exclude Selected.

To prevent the account from encountering this issue again, it's always a good idea to keep your browser healthy and clean. I recommend clearing the cache and cookies from your browser to get rid of any stored Internet files that can cause bugs in QBO and other sites. Here's how: How do I clear my browser cache and temporary Internet files?
