Based on the information you've provided, I recommend refreshing the app for the best experience with the receipt function.  Here's how:

 

For iPhone;  Open the three vertical lines at the bottom and then the icon in the upper right.  Select Refresh data

 

If you're using Android; Select the 3-dots at the top, choose Settings and then Refresh app data.

 

If the issue persists, uninstall the app and reinstall it to ensure it's up to date and working as designed.
