Question

Is there a way I change the tax rate of many transactions already categorized into the same account at once? Or a faster way than opening up each transaction separately?

Hi sylvie1,

This is a great question and I can appreciate wanting to be able to bulk change a number of transactions that you're applying the same change to. Depending on what you mean by "tax rate," there are a couple of options.

If you're meaning you'd like to change the tax code associated with each transaction, an accountant user is able to use the reclassify transaction tool to help in this process. You can either invite an accountant you're already working with to your QuickBooks Online account, or use the Find a Pro to Help option accessed through the My Accountant tab on the left-hand side of your account. The Find a Pro to Help feature allows you to use your postal code to find QuickBooks-savvy accountants in your area.

To change the tax that was calculated on each transaction, you'll need to go into each one individually to make the change. Going into each one will also be the process for changing the tax code if you don't have an accountant or don't wish to connect with one.

I hope that helps! Stop by again if you need anything else and I hope you have a great weekend.
