I converted an older desktop account that was not linked to an actual bank account and so doesn't actually exist. I would like to bulk edit these transaction from that false account to my actual bank account in order to reconcile properly. I have 750 transactions to move.

You need to fix the problem before converting data to QB Online. You used Invoices or Sales Receipts to register those 750 transactions?

Hi info-timetogetna,

It's a pleasure to see you in Community.  Welcome!  Ensuring your transactions are recorded accurately simplifies the reconciliation process.  QuickBooks Online has the versatility you need to complete your daily goals seamlessly.  I'd be happy to help!

Based on the information you've provided the first step is to add an account in your Chart of Accounts.  Here's how;

1. Open your Settings ⚙ and select Chart of Accounts

2. Click on New to create an account

3. Use the Account Type ▼ dropdown to choose an account type

4. Select the detail type that best fits the transactions you want to track, from the Detail Type ▼ dropdown

Click here to learn more about detail types

5. Enter an account Name and Description

6. Choose when you want to start tracking your finances. In the Balance field, enter the amount in the account, and determine the as of date. Enter today's date if you want to start tracking immediately.

7. When you're done, hit Save and Close.

To transfer multiple transactions to the appropriate account, you can create a journal entry.  IF you need additional assistance, I suggest reaching out to your accountant.  They'll have the ability to reclassify the transactions as a batch and ensure a positive outcome on your books.  If you don't have an accountant, we can help you locate a ProAdvisor in your local area.

If you have any other questions, please feel free to reach back out.  We'd be glad to assist!
