Hello matthiasfv13,

The ability to record mileage is an integral part of a business that involves travelling. QuickBooks Self-Employed offers a powerful interface which allows you to have an organized visual representation of your trips. I'll be happy to share more information about this.

At this time you'll have to manually add trips using the steps below:

Step 1: Set up automatic mileage tracking

If you haven't already, turn on automatic mileage tracking. You don't have to use the feature, but you need to set it up before you can add trips.

Step 2: Add a trip manually

On a web browser

  1. Select the Miles menu.
  2. Select Add trip.
  3. Enter the distance in the Add miles field.
  4. Edit the Date.
  5. Select the ✏️pencil icon to edit the start and end addresses. This is optional.
  6. Add a Trip purpose note.
  7. When you're done, select Save.

On an iOS device (iPhone or iPad)

  1. Select the Mileage menu.
  2. Select the Plus icon (+) and then Create trip.
  3. Enter the trip details.
  4. When you're done, select Save.

On an Android device (phone or tablet)

  1. Select the Menu ☰ icon.
  2. Select the Mileage menu.
  3. Select the Plus icon (+) and then Add business trip.
  4. Enter the trip details.
  5. When you're done, select Save.

Next steps: Edit or delete an existing trip

  1. Go to the Miles or Mileage menu.
  2. Select the Reviewed tab.
  3. Find and select the trip.
  4. Select Edit.
  5. Make your change. Then select Save.

To delete a trip, find and open it. Then select the Trash can icon (on a browser or for Android) or Delete Trip (iPhone).

I know how useful it is for you to be able to import trips using CSV files and I recommend sending feedback to our engineers. You can do this by clicking the Gear icon and looking for Feedback
