Issue with Chart of Accounts Displaying Subaccounts Incorrectly

Hello QuickBooks Support Team,

I’m experiencing an issue in QuickBooks Online where my subaccounts are not displaying correctly in the Chart of Accounts.

I have a parent expense account called "Dental Expenses", with five subaccounts under it.

However, when I open the Chart of Accounts, these subaccounts appear nested under a different expense account, even though their details show the correct parent account (Dental Expenses).

When I run reports (such as the Account List or Profit & Loss), the subaccounts correctly appear under Dental Expenses, which suggests that this is a display issue rather than an accounting error.

I have tried troubleshooting by:
1. Refreshing the page
2. Clearing my browser cache
3. Checking in an incognito window
4. Sorting accounts by name/number
5. Verifying transactions and parent-child account settings

6. Redoing the parent-subaccount connections.

7. Log off / Log On

8. Etc.

Despite these efforts, the issue persists.
It seems to be a display bug within the Chart of Accounts page.
Could you please investigate this and provide a solution?

Thank you for your time and assistance!

Thank you for taking the time to perform the troubleshooting steps you've mentioned to address the issue. You'll want to make sure to sort the account by "Account type" for the subaccounts to show up under the parent account. I'm here to help you fix this, Knowgle.

When you sort the accounts by Account type, the subaccounts should appear under their respective parent account in your Chart of accounts. Similar to the Expense with other category account assigned as the parent to subaccount Expense1. I've added this screenshot for a visual guide:

However, if you're still having the issue, I recommend reaching out to our support team so they'll be able to double-check the problem. To do so, follow the steps outlined below:
