Issues with posting payments and getting the error message: This feature is not included in your QuickBooks Online Essentials subscription.

Recently began getting this error, like the program no longer recognizes we have the right subscription to allow us to post payments received through our bank.

Thank you for joining Community.  Welcome!  It's important that you're able to get the full benefit of your QuickBooks Online subscription and record the payments you've received.  I'd be happy to help!

 

Based on the information you've provided, the error message may be caused by a few things.  First and foremost, if your email address may be associated with any other QuickBooks Online products, ensure that you've logged into the correct company.  To do that, go the the Gear icon at the top right and see if there's an option to 'Switch Companies'.  Once this has been confirmed, I'd suggest reviewing your current subscription information to see what product you have and ensure it's active.  To do that, follow these steps:

 

Select the Gear icon in the top right corner of your account

Choose Account and Settings

Click on Billing and Subscriptions

 

You'll see which product you're currently using, with the available options based your findings.  If for any reason, you're using Easy Start, you'll want to click on Upgrade and then select Essentials as you've mentioned already having.   Should something have taken place for unknown reasons, the account may be currently inactive.  If this is the case, you'll click on Resubscribe and follow the prompts.

 

I'd then recommend clearing the cache on your browser and log back into your account using a private or incognito browser.  Recommended browsers are Google Chrome, Firefox, Safari and Edge.
