Hello alliance2020,

Thanks for reaching out and joining us in the QuickBooks Community. Knowing how what you're trying to do will affect other periods is a great way to ensure the integrity of your books and have a sense of how everything links together in your QuickBooks Desktop company file. I'll point you in the right direction.

In this case, having more information about what you're trying to do and what you're receiving a bill against will help determine how this might affect a previous period. For that reason, I recommend getting in touch with QuickBooks Desktop support to discuss your situation in more detail. That way, we can be sure you're getting the answers you need for your situation.

The following article provides more information about getting in touch with support:

Intuit QuickBooks Desktop software support policies. If you're using Pro or Premier, please note that while the hours are typically 24/7, due to reduced staffing for COVID-19, hours are currently from Monday to Friday between 9 a.m. and 8 p.m. ET for all Desktop products.

All the best to you!
