I am set up for auto updates but it has not updated the payroll for July 1.  I did go in and reset update and then exit out of quickbooks, back in again and still has not updated.

Same.

I have used QB Pro with payroll for years and I have never been able to update the tax table without calling the help centre. I find this frustrating.

Hi ceebee2,

Thanks for reaching out to us here.  It's essential that your QuickBooks Desktop payroll tax table is updated, to ensure accurate calculations.  I would be glad to help!

If you haven't done so already, I recommend Updating QuickBooks Desktop to the latest release, to ensure you're getting the latest payroll tax table.  However, should you need to update it manually, follow these steps;

1. Run QuickBooks as Admin

2. Go to Help (?)

3. Proceed to Update QuickBooks Desktop

4. Open the Update tab

5. Select Reset Update

6. Click Get Updates

7. Close QuickBooks, then right click on it and select Run as administrator.  You should get a message letting you know there are new updates to install.  Once completed, QuickBooks will open. When it opens go to Help, then My License Information to make sure the tax table is updated.

Should you require additional assistance, or information related to the payroll tax table updates, I recommend contacting our QuickBooks Desktop specialists here.

If you have any other questions, please feel free to reach back out.  We would be happy to assist!

I could not do it either, then I did an online chat and found out that back in October there was an email sent out with a Critical Update.  The update was to go from Quickbooks 2023 to 2024.  You must do this update before you can update the tax table for payroll.  Check your emails from Quickbooks to see if you can find it.  If not contact them.
