QuickBooks Online is designed to be very user-friendly. With all your tools available to you in easy-to-read menu's like the left navigation menu, you'll find that you're able to be more efficient than ever with your bookkeeping. If you're experiencing an issue with the left menu not opening or expanding, there's a few troubleshooting steps you can try in order to resolve that. I'll explain in more detail below.


The left navigation menu can be collapsed and expanded when you need it. If you're not seeing your left menu appearing at all, you may have collapsed it by mistake. Don't worry, that's an easy fix. Simply click the 3 horizontal lines at the upper left-hand side of your account page to expand the menu. 

If you're still unable to view your menu, make sure you're working with a clean browser to avoid any bugs or browser-related issues. Try clearing the cache and cookies in your browser to remove any stored Internet files that may have built up in the background of your browser. If the issue persists, try using an Incognito window in Google Chrome. This is a private browser that doesn't get impacted by cache and cookies. Here's how to do it: Browse in Private.

 

You should also try using an alternative browser all together.
