I am in Canada.
I am using quickbooks online for my coporation
i have purchased turbotax for coporations in desktop form. there is no online format.
I understand that you cant import from qB online to Turbo tax.
Therefore, what do I do?
Im told i need to convert or migrate my qb online to qb desktop trial version.
QB online is not letting me do that.
I called help desk and they said can only migrate from Desktop to Online.
Not helpful. Why even sell the Turbo Tax for corporations?
I tried exporting files to excel and then importing to QB desktop. Wont accept them.
I also tried typing in exportqbodatatoqbdt in the url of qb online.
It takes me to the export overview page but DOES NOT give me an option to get started like you tube videos are saying.

You can purchase a 3d party service to convert data from QB Online CA to QB Desktop CA. But I only recommend this route if you want to switch to QB Desktop for good. Otherwise, you will spend extra cost every year just to migrate your data to TurboTax.

Any suggestions of apps that work well to complete the QBO to QBDT easily?

Hi steveriedel-me-c,

Welcome to the Community and thank you for reaching out! I'd be happy to share some information on bringing your QuickBooks Online data over to TurboTax. Below are some steps to try:

Convert QuickBooks Online Data to QuickBooks Desktop:

  • Since TurboTax Canada doesn’t directly integrate with QuickBooks Online, you’ll need to use QuickBooks Desktop as an intermediary.
  • Here’s how:
    • Export your QBO data into a CSV file.
    • Download and install the trial version of QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT).
    • Restore your QBO data into the trial version of QBDT.
    • This step ensures that your data is now in a format compatible with QuickBooks Desktop.
  • Beforehand, know that there are limitations when you convert your file, including the attachments, audit trail, and recurring transactions.

Import Data into TurboTax Canada:

  • Once your data is in QuickBooks Desktop, follow these steps to import it into TurboTax Canada:
    • Sign in to your TurboTax account.
    • Continue to your return.
    • From the TurboTax File menu, select Import and then choose From Accounting Software.
    • Select QuickBooks and click Continue.
    • Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the process.

Consider Third-Party Apps as suggested by another Community member above:
