Quickbooks online has a field for the Reorder point but not a field for your max order. How do we keep track of our inventory without having to look at another platform for this information. Does Quickooks plan to have this Max field anytime soon?

Hello meddy10,

Welcome back to the QuickBooks Community. From your post, it sounds like you're looking at the inventory item setup in QuickBooks Online's Products and services section. I'm happy to go over how inventory and its features work in the program.

At QuickBooks, we know many businesses have inventory that they're like to account for with their books, which is why we have the Products and services section through the Sales tab. This option offers users some basic inventory accounting options, such as the reorder point that you mention. The Reorder point is in place so you can let QuickBooks know you'd like to be notified when you need to reorder your products. You can learn all about it here: Get alerts for low or out of stock products

With what you're describing, it sounds like you're hoping this reorder threshold will also then place the order for you, which is why you'd like the max order field. At this time, QuickBooks Online doesn't have an automated reordering system for inventory, so once you or another user sees that alert about inventory being low, going through the manual steps to reorder is the way to restock. When you do so, you'll be able to enter the max amount as needed. Here's an article that walks you through the process: Reorder inventory or supplies from suppliers

I know how automation can speed things up and reduce your workload. For more sophisticated inventory management systems, I recommend reviewing what's available for our partner apps. Through the Apps tab, you have the opportunity to search for services that can enhance the QuickBooks experience.

I also encourage you to submit feedback about what's currently available in QuickBooks Online and what you'd like to see in the program. Using the steps outlined in the How do I submit feedback? article, you can share with us the ways we can consider changing the program to meet the needs of business owners.

Enjoy the rest of your day.
