Modify Fields that appear on Invoice & Quote Screens

Using QB Enterprise Professional Services Edition with a client.  I want to modify the Invoice and Quote screens to add a sub-total field (sum of all the items on the invoice/quote that would sit above the tax field).  I have been able to modify the templates for printed invoices and quotes to do this but can't make the same change on the screen view of the templates.  The "Sub-total" field is greyed out on Manage Templates - Additional Customization - Footer - Screen.  Is there any work around for this??

I know how helpful it can be to have the ability to customize certain forms and transactions. QuickBooks Desktop provides you with tons of options for customization, but there are also some limitations. Let me explore that with you.

 

There isn't an option to modify the Invoice or Quote forms to add the fields you've indicated. To modify or customize a template is a slightly different process than actually modifying the view that you see when creating a Quote or Invoice. Since this is limitation within the product, I'd encourage you to tell our product development team how helpful this feature would be. If you navigate to the Help button you'll be able to submit Feedback. Indicate what you'd like to see changed and we'll be able to consider it when adding new features and improvements to the product.
