I recently moved my files from the desktop to online. a lot of things moved seemlessly but there are a few items I am having trouble with.

When I connected my banking feeds I connected from Jan 1 2020.  There is couple of pay cheques that were written in 2019 but cashed in the beginning of January 2020 and I have no way to match them to anything. Not really sure how to proceed with them

Hello there,

Congrats on making the move to the cloud! I see how useful it is to have all your payroll information in the Online version.

QBO is powerful program which allows you to seamlessly manage your banking and your payroll. When you convert to QBO, the process brings over some of your payroll details. You can use payroll reports in QuickBooks Desktop to complete setting up payroll in QuickBooks Online. It may take a while to do this depending on your number of employees. To complete the set up, follow the steps below:

   1. In QuickBooks Desktop, run a Payroll Summary report. You need this report to set up your employees in QuickBooks Online. Print it or save it as a PDF for your records.
   2. In QuickBooks Online, select the Employees menu.
   3. Select Turn on Payroll.
   4. Follow the steps on the screen to set up your employees. Enter anything that's missing and their year-to-date payroll amounts. You can get those from the Payroll Summary report you ran in QuickBooks Desktop.
   5. When you’re done setting up your employees, select Payroll tax.
   6. Select Enter prior tax history. Enter the details of your tax payment. Repeat for each payment you made this year.

Once you set up your employees, enter year-to-date payroll amounts and payroll taxes, you're ready to run payroll in QuickBooks Online.
