Purchasing one of the Quick books but not sure which to go with

I would like to purchase a QuickBooks program which I could install on 2 computers but one would only be a visual and not have the ability to make changes.  Is this possible?  I am the bookkeeper for a company living at a different address, and I do all the entries etc, but the owner of the company would like to open his computer and be able to see the business activity.  However, I don't want to add it to his computer if it would then allow him to make changes because I think that could be disaster.  Thanks for your help/advice.

Yes you can. But you have to decide first, do you want your client access the file anytime he/she wants to on the latest data or not? I may share you with a solution according to your needs

QuickBooks Enterprise offers the ability to create certain user roles, which would allow you to set up a "View Only" user type to suit your needs. One of the great things about this version of the program is you can really get into the finer details of what the users can and cannot see as well as what they can and cannot do. QuickBooks Desktop Pro and Premier do give you the option to assign different user permissions, but they aren't as detailed in the accesses as the Enterprise version of the program. Read the following article for more details: QuickBooks Desktop Users and Restrictions

 

QuickBooks Desktop can be installed on multiple computers and with certain configurations, users can access the file at the same time and without having to move the file from one computer to the other.
