QB 2020 Accountant Version

Hi,

We need to return an accountant's copy file back to our client. Apparently something changed with QuickBooks in the past few weeks since we took the file from the client..? I no longer have the option to return it. Instead I get this warning message, "Accountants Copy File Transfer is no longer available for this version of QuickBooks".

This is super frustrating that QB did not manage their changes better. We are now caught in the loop with apparently no option other than to redo our entries in a new file. 

It would be much better if the client could not send the file in the first place, rather than getting this far with things, and now we are unable to send it back. Just my thoughts. 

Does anyone have any suggestions for a work around?

      William Expert is a scammer for sure.

       

      Anyway, you should be able to send the file manually to your client.

        Welcome to the Community. I'll be happy to share more info and help steer you in the right direction. 

         

        In order to get to the bottom of the issue you've reached out about, I recommend making sure you're using the updated version of QuickBooks. Here are other factors that can contribute to the issue: 

         

        • Entering a long dash in MS Word and then copying it to your notes can cause this to happen. A long dash is created in Microsoft Word by entering two single dashes between the two hyphenated words.
        • Your QBW file is 200 MB or larger.
        • Your Internet connection is slow or your firewall settings may be interfering with the upload.
        • Your company data file is damaged.

        I suggest double-checking with the variables above to make sure they aren't the cause to the error you've described. Feel free to keep me posted on how you make out in the comments below. I'll be a message away.
