Question
QB Payroll not Project Allocating
Hello,
We have two companies that we process payroll via QuickBooks online (a Canadian company and a US)
- Our employees enter their timesheets into QuickBooks Time by the Hour and to the project that they are working on during that pay period.
- Once approved their timesheets then gets exported from QuickBooks Time into QuickBooks Online
- We then review their Timesheets in QuickBooks Online to make sure that is has imported correctly from QuickBooks Time - for the most part it does.
- Once we run Payroll a percentage of their salary should then be allocated to each project that the employee has been working on
- The percentage is determined by the hours worked divided by total hours for that pay period.
- For the past few months once payroll is ran - QuickBooks Online is not project allocating in our Canadian or US Companies UNLESS an employee has taken vacation
- If they have taken vacation during that pay period, then their salary is project allocated correctly.
- I did a test run to make sure that it was a QuickBooks online issue and not a QuickBooks time issue.
- I manually entered a timesheet into QuickBooks Online (Cutting out the QuickBooks time step)
- When I ran payroll I got the same error - It is only project allocating if an employee has taken vacation during that pay period.
- By cutting out the QuickBooks Time part is shows me that this is a QuickBooks Online issue and not a QuickBooks Time
- When I called QuickBooks Support, they told me it was a mapping issue from QuickBooks Time and wanted me to call QuickBooks time when I explained multiple times that this was not a QuickBooks Time issue since I had skipped this step completely in my test run.
- QuickBooks still insisted that I had to call QuickBooks Time and that it was a QuickBooks Time issue.
I am wondering if anyone has come across a similar problem and if so have they found a solution? QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks Time just have me bouncing back and forth between each other with no answer.
