Question

QBO is picking wrong payee and category. If say Bank charge is $19, somehow the next transaction for $1520 also shows up as Bank Charges for $1520 .

Hello aniz-premiuminno,

It sounds to me like you're working in QBO's banking feeds, which is a useful tool for managing transactions from your bank in the program. I appreciate the example of what's happening in your feed, and I can see how that would cause problems and some extra work to not only ensure that transactions have the appropriate information, but also to make changes if they don't. I can explain.

QuickBooks Online is built with simplicity in mind with a goal of making data entry as easy as possible. One of the ways that the program does this is by assigning categories and other details for you in the banking feed based on past ways you've handled similar transactions. As we can see, the program doesn't always get it right, meaning the need to edit them from time to time. This article can help: Categorize and match online bank transactions in QuickBooks Online

There isn't currently a way to disable this feature, so what I recommend is submitting your feedback about it by using the steps outlined in this article: How do I submit feedback?. This allows you to share your thoughts and how features are impacting your books with our product team. The developers read through the comments and consider them in future updates. I know this likely isn't the resolution you were hoping for, but I hope that it helps explain what's happened. Don't hesitate to share your feedback!
