QBO Plus: Customize Email Invoices

We have a currently QBO essentials subscription.  We own an S corp, but also have a second business operating under a DBA under the same tax ID.  It sounds like the location feature in QBO Plus would be a better way for us to separate the two businesses.  The feature I am  most looking for is being able to email invoices for the DBA that are 100% customizable for the DBA.  Right now I cannot email invoices for the DBA because the name of the primary company shows up everywhere.  Does anyone have any experience with us?  I want to be confident that the emails are customizable before making the change.  Thanks

Thanks for reaching out here.  With QuickBooks Online Plus, you can use Locations to track data from different offices, regions or departments of the same company.  Based on what you're saying, I feel this would be the best fit for your business needs.  

 

Once you upgrade to QuickBooks Online Plus, you'll need to create a new invoice template for each location.  Here's how;

 

1. Open your Settings ⚙ and select Custom Form Styles

3. Click New Style, and select Invoice

4. Give your template a Name 

5. Select the Content tab at the top of the page, then click the Edit ✎ in the Header

6. Click the + Address button

7. Enter your address

8. Hit Done

When you're ready to create an invoice, open +New > Invoice.  Scroll to the very bottom and click Customize.  Choose the appropriate template and complete the form.  Here's a helpful guide for setting up and using Location Tracking.
