QBO wiped all my client's data?

My client only provides me with the info to finish his books once a year. I got his package and went to log in to QBO only to find all his information from last year is gone? No clients, no suppliers, no transactions - nothing. How do I get this information back?

Thanks for reaching out to Community.  We're glad to see you here!  Having the ability to perform year end tasks for your client is essential for tax purposes and meeting government deadlines.  QuickBooks Online Accountant provides you with the access you need to get the job done.  Based on the information you've provided, there's a few circumstances that would cause this type of behavior.  I'd be happy to provide some suggestions.

 

Initially, I'd recommend doing some troubleshooting, if you haven't already.  Clear cache on your browser and login to the account using private or incognito mode.  If you have the same result, I recommend taking a look at the audit log to see what activities have taken place.  Click on the Gear in the top right and select Audit Log and then enter your Date range.  Here's where you'll be able to recognize any deletions performed in the account.

 

Next, check your user permissions for access to the account.  Here's how:

 

1. Click on the Gear in the top right and then choose Manage Users

2. Review the User tab to review your level of access

3. Open the Accountant tab to ensure you're listed
