Question

Qbooks Enterprise - need access to attachments

We have stopped using Quickbooks Enterprise as our parent company uses another platform.  We did all our processing on Quickbooks previously and have a number of attachments which have been stored (especially in the Vendor/AP module).  We need to access these records for audit purposes for a period of up to 5 years.  Our challenge is that we are now locked in to paying a monthly subscription of $500 just to gain access to these attachments.  We have asked Intuit for a solution and the only option they provided was to individually print each attachment (of which we have over 45k).

Is there anyone that has faced a similar issue that has managed to download the attachment files using a single job?  I am happy to sort the files, we just do not have capacity to print them one by one.

In my opinion this is also short sighted from a QBooks product management perspective as the option to move to online is not even feasible.  Attachments made in enterprise need to remain there - there is not alternative.  Which makes leaving QBooks even more difficult and frustrating - it feels like we are being held hostage and need to pay to get our data.

Hello CalvinClearP,

Welcome to the Community. QuickBooks is a flexible program that helps you streamline your accounting with ease. I'll be happy to steer you in the right direction so you can get back to doing what you enjoy.

In order to manage more than one statement at a time, I recommend looking into third-party apps on our site desktop.apps.com. I suggest choosing an app that suits your business needs based on the app description/reviews.

Let me know if you have other questions by leaving a comment below. I'll be here.

My challenge is not managing more than one statement at a time - I need to download all attachments that have been attached in the system.  I have looked in the 3rd party apps and am not able to find one that exports attachments.  Again, that is why I reached out to the forum.

@CalvinClearP

Which QB Desktop year version did you use? 2023 or 2024?
