Hello, I started a self employed business few months ago and kept track of everything on quickbooks desktop (pirated). I thought it wouldn't last two months but now the business is doing ok, so I have bought quickbooks Online and want to migrate everything over to that, can anyone help?

Hello adeep123,

Congratulations on starting a self-employed business! I'll be happy to share more info about switching from QuickBooks Desktop to Online.

QuickBooks allows you to manually migrate your data from QBDT to QBO. I encourage you to check out the following article that shows you how to: Migrate from QuickBooks Desktop to QuickBooks Online with Intuit's internal tool. There are also third-party apps that offer more automated data migration options. You can search for these apps on our app store, www.desktop.apps.com

Let me know if you have other questions as you go through the article. I'll be one message away in case you need anything else.

@adeep123

Which QB Desktop year version do you have?

Is your company located in Canada or else?

You can use QB Desktop with a non-subscription license or convert to QB Online.

If you are using QB Desktop Canadian version, you can convert data to QB Online Canadian version. You will need to purchase a 3rd party service to convert data to QB Online non-Canadian version (e.g Global version)
