QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise Updates

We're running terminal servers with QuickBooks.

Users login to the TS to use QuickBooks.

On occassion, QuickBooks will give an error such as Update pending You don't have adminstrative rights.

And then close. Administrator has to get everyone to log off, login and run the updates for all QuickBooks versions, and possibly reboot.

How do we know their is an update pending so this can be scheduled.

Thanks for reaching out to us regarding this update concern, @Layer-1-Hub.

QuickBooks updates regularly, but there is no definite time duration our developers release them. You will know when there is an update available as the system will put automatic pop-ups when you open the company file. You can also set up your account for automatic updates. This means that you can schedule your updates to download at your specified time. See these steps to turn on automatic updates:

  1. From the Help menu, select Update QuickBooks Desktop.
  2. Go to the Options tab.
  3. Click on Yes to turn on automatic updates. Tip: If you want to share automatic downloads with other computers on your network, select Yes for each computer.
  4. Select Close.

If your account isn't set up for automatic updates, you can view the latest available release for your version from these links:
