QUICKBOOKS ENTERPRISE - CANADA OR USA VERSION

Hi.

Looking for any input on our situation.

We are a Canadian company located in Quebec trying to decide which version of Quickbooks Enterprise to use.

We have heard that the USA version offers more features but does not offer a 2nd sales tax field to account for the QST in Quebec.

Are there any Quebec companies out there using Quickbooks Enterprise USA version?

If yes, any feedback on how you find working with the USA version and in particular, how you dealt with the QST for Quebec sales and purchases.

Hi Greg,

 

Welcome to the QuickBooks Community. Measuring the pros and cons of a purchase is a smart business move. I want to be sure that you've taken all the information into account before you choose.

 

There are a couple of things that I want to make a note of:

  • The tax forms will be different in a Canadian program versus the American version. The Canadian version of the program is set up with the sales tax reporting and the correct format for filing and claiming your ITC's. The forms for payroll, T4's and ROE's wouldn't be in an American product. 
  • If your Accountant is using the Canadian version of QuickBooks Desktop, they won't be able to open a file from the US version of the product.

We use Quickbooks onlijne Canada and pay monthly and everything works well.  

Being a french customer, some odd issues or non working functionality like online payment but it is minor that can be resolved by swtiching to English .

 

We do our sales tax report directly from it to pay our QST and GST/HST.

Can you print your signatures from your print checks window like the USA version?

I would recommend using QBD CA Enterprise for your company. You may have a 3rd party app to integrate with your QBD later if required. Many features available on QBD US Enterprise can be replace with 3rd party apps.

Hello,

Can you explain more about 3rd party apps as you mentioned. I have become very disappointed that the Canadian version QBD doesnt have the print signature feature. I dont know how to locate and integrate a 3rd party app for it but would sure save me 20 signatures a day!!!
