How to delete a method of payment - customer invoices

When receiving customer payments, I have duplicate and misspelled methods of payment in the drop down menu.  How do I delete the incorrect entries?  I have pulled reports and none of the incorrect entries I want to delete have been used in a transaction.  Thank you.

It's nice to see you in Community.  I can understand the need to clean up your payment methods in QuickBooks Online.  I would be glad to assist!

 

Although you can't delete a payment method, you can make them inactive.  Here's how;

 

1. Go to your Settings ⚙ and select All lists

2. Click on Payment Methods

3. Locate the payment method you want to inactivate

4. Use the▼ dropdown menu beside Run report, and choose Make inactive

5. Hit Yes to confirm.
