Received a Grant- but it's going out- how to record

Hi,

I work for a church (registered charity) and we received a Grant from an NGO. BUT this Grant is not for our church, we applied for it for the purpose of giving it to another NGO that needs the money. How should I record this in QB online?

Thanks for reaching out here.  It's great to hear that you've received a grant.   It's important that you're able to record it in QuickBooks Online.  These types of entries, require special attention when it comes to accounting and I want to ensure you're on the right track with your work.

 

In this situation, it's best to reach out to an accounting professional for their expertise and best course of action.  If you don't have an accountant, we can help you locate a ProAdvisor in your local area.  However, others may provide some insight on this thread, if they've entered this type of transaction in their books.
