Question

Receiving verification code by email, not text

I want to add the option of receiving a verification code by email so I can access my account on my iPad, not my phone for better viewing capabilities.

Currently am only able to get the code by text which doesn’t work as I am out of the country and not able to receive text messages.
Phone calls also don’t work.
Two step verification is turned off.

Hi mayway1234,

Glad to have you post in the Community. I'll be happy to share more info about using the two-step verification in QuickBooks.

In order to verify your account via email you'll first have to turn on the two-step verification setting. The current steps available for verifying the code are as follows:

  • User ID: Customize your User ID to make it easier to remember.
  • Email: An updated email address helps us verify your account.
  • Phone: You can also use your current phone number to verify your account.
  • Password: Longer passwords or phrases are more secure than short ones.
  • Authenticator: Set up an authenticator app to generate one-time passcodes instead of receiving them by text.

To learn more about turning on this feature, I encourage you to check out this helpful article here. You're welcome to ask other questions. I'll be one message away in case you need anything else.
