Reconciled checked jumping to the bottom

In the top left hand of the debits and the credits there is a option to put the list in date order from first to last or last to first. 

However, I used to be able to just check them.  I don't want every time I check one for it to refresh and put the highlighted ones at the top or bottom. Just show them to me in the same date order.  That option disappeared and I don't know how to get it back.
