Hello art11,

Thanks for reaching out! It's always good to check in on the file types you're seeing before deleting and moving them around. It's always important to know how the files affect the program's functions and what'll happen if you get rid of them. I'll help you with this.

An RGT file is a temporary file created by QuickBooks Desktop to verify correct permissions to the related folders when accessing over a network. In light of that, you won't want to delete this file. Typically temporary files are deleted when a program using them closes, so you should be okay simply ignoring the file. This third-party article has a few more details about this: RGT file format description

You can learn more about other file types for QuickBooks Desktop here: File types and extensions used by QuickBooks Desktop. The RGT file type isn't mentioned here at this time, which is something I'm going to bring up with my team to make sure we're presenting users with all the information they need.

If you have further questions about this, feel free to get in touch with support. Because of reduced staffing in the wake of COVID-19, QuickBooks Desktop Canada support is currently offered through chat, which you can access by clicking the following link: https://intuit.me/cachat. Under regular circumstances, you'd be able to reach out to support using the options outlined in the following article: Intuit QuickBooks Desktop software support policies

I hope that helps clear this up and that you have a great rest of your day. :)
