Sales report with paid date

I'm trying to pull a report that shows sales by customer with paid date in the excel file. Currently I have to drill down on each invoice to see the paid date. Is there a reason that when I customize the report to include the option "paid date" it pulls in blanks on the detail file? Thanks!
