We have two old remittances that do not show paid, but we have paid them. How do we mark them paid without affecting our bank reconciliation?

Hey there accounting110,

Thanks for reaching out to us here. It's vital that you record your Tax payments in QuickBooks so that your books balance correctly. I can provide some information that will help you record your sales tax payment.

To record a sales Tax payment in QuickBooks Online without affecting your Reconciliation, you can mark them as paid and then create a reversing  Journal Entry.

Making sure you're recording your transactions properly is an essential step for maintaining clean books. To ensure accuracy in your books, I recommend reaching out to an accounting professional for expert advice on creating this transaction. They'll be able to guide you in choosing the correct transaction type as well as which accounts to affect so that your accounts can end up with a right balance. You can add your accountant to your books by going to the My Accountant tab of your QuickBooks account. You can also find an accountant that has experience using QuickBooks near you by clicking on the Find a pro to help option in that section.
