Question

Shortcut folders as seen on youtube videos

I use QB Online Plus.  In a number of youtube videos by hector Garcia (QB expert), he uses the black space between the QB logo and "+NEW" to create folders for shortcuts.  By doing this, he can open multiple tabs at one time without the need to close some screens to get to another section.  I know this can be done in another way, but that means each tab requires a log in.  He uses the advanced version.  Is this feature available in Plus and, if so, how does it work?

Hi Imtired.

Being able to use multiple tabs with your QuickBooks Online account allows you to switch between screens with ease. I'd be happy to go over this with you.

What it sounds like he's doing is opening a new tab on his internet browser. This is not a feature of QuickBooks Online but instead is part of the internet browser that you're using. Also these videos are for the American version of QuickBooks Online as Advanced is not available in Canada. Depending on your internet browser there are multiple ways on how to duplicate or open multiple tabs. For example with Google Chrome you can right click the tab you have open and select duplicate to create another tab that is the same as the original. Another option you can do is right click on a link and select open in new tab.

Doesn't seem to be what he does.  Creates actual shortcut folders on his QB left menu.  See video link:

Hi Imtired.

Creating folders or shortcuts is not a feature of QuickBooks Online and is instead a feature of the internet browser itself. In the video it's mentioned that he is doing this in the browser for QuickBooks Online and not using QuickBooks Online.
