Status of open invoices

Hi

Some of my outstanding invoices are saying APPLIED and others are PAID; none say CLOSED.  What am I doing wrong?  They are all paid and done.  How do I fix it?

Hi jlev1.

 

Verifying that your invoices have been paid and closed is the key to good bookkeeping. I'd be happy to help go over how an invoice is closed in QuickBooks Online.

 

When a payment is made on an invoice in QuickBooks Online for the full balance your invoices will be marked as paid. This essentially shows that the invoice has been paid and is closed. If a partial payment is put towards the invoice it'll show as a partial payment on the invoice instead. The only thing that shows as closed would be the payment that is made on that invoice.
