Hi DannyL1,

It's nice to see you in Community.  Welcome!  QuickBooks Online has many valuable features to suite your business needs.  Although account numbers aren't set by default I'd be glad to show you how to add them!

Follow these steps to turn on account numbers;

1. Open your Settings ⚙ and select Account and settings

2. Select the Advanced tab from the left menu

3. Click on the Edit ✎ in the Chart of accounts section

4. Turn on Enable account numbers

Note; If you want account numbers to show on reports and transactions, select Show account numbers.

5. Hit Save and then Done.

Here's how to assign account numbers;

1. Open your Settings ⚙ and select Chart of accounts

2. Click on the ▼ dropdown menu in the Action column and select Edit for the account you'd like to enter a number for

3. Enter the Number and hit Save and close.

Hi DannyL1,

QuickBooks Online doesn't automatically assign account numbers in your chart of accounts.  You'll need to manually enter them by following the steps provided above.  However, if you'd like to see this in future updates, you can submit a recommendation to our Development Team.  Customer suggestions are much appreciated in assisting with improving your overall customer experience in QuickBooks Online.
