Question

We are setting up a second location. Can we setup security by location code OR must I setup a new instance ( subscription ) of QBO to fulfill this requirement?

Looks like QBO Location Codes might work for us.  Location 1 ( the original location ) finance people are allowed to see the books for Location 2 ( the new, secondary site ).  However, location 2 finance people should NOT have the ability to see the books for Location 1.

Welcome to the Community. QuickBooks Online is a great program that gives you the ability to easily track your sales and expenses. I'd be glad to help.

 

At this time, the option to limit user access based on location isn't available. You can create a second account (subscription) with users for location 2 so that they don't have the ability to see the books for Location 1. I encourage you to reach out to our sales team at 1-888-829-8589 to create the second account.

 

If you'd like to include the option to limit user access based on location in QuickBooks, I recommend that you send us Feedback by clicking on the Gear icon at the top. This is sent to our Development Team to consider for future updates.
