Question

What is the difference between a supplier and a customer? I'm sorting my credit card transactions and would like to create a Payee. Ex: which type for SkiptheDishes

Hi there,

Sorting credit card transactions is an awesome way to stay organized and keep your books up-to-date. I'm glad you're taking advantage of how easy it is to do this in QuickBooks Online. When you categorize your transaction, you'll be asked to select a Supplier or Customer. I'd be happy to explain the difference.

Your customer is someone who pays you for your products or services. You'll select a customer when you're making a sale. If you've sold something to SkiptheDishes, this would make them a customer.

A supplier is someone who you will pay for their products or services. If you've purchased goods from SkiptheDishes, that would make them a supplier.

A supplier and a payee go hand-in-hand.

I hope this helps clear things up for you. If you have any other questions, please reach out to our tech support team

Cheers.
