When adding Suppliers names in QBo Essentials, I keep getting an "invalid name" errror message. I don't understand as these are business names such as Gas stations etc. How do I get around this??

Being able to add you suppliers in QuickBooks is vital to ensure your transactions are properly tracked. With this, please make sure the names you add contains accepted characters. If the system scans an invalid character, it will give you alerts so you can update it. Check out this link to learn more about this requirement: Acceptable characters in QuickBooks Online.
 

To resolve the error, review the names and remove any invalid special characters. However, if there are no issues with the names, try opening your account in a private web browser and add the supplier from there. We need to be sure if this error is a caching problem or not.

Unexpected issues in our sites are sometimes associated with the amount of data stored in the cache. This is because a regular browser will constantly overwrite itself and will not remove history.

Private browsing will not save any history, so it's a great place to identify issues in the browser. Use these keyboard shortcuts to launch a new private window:

• Google Chrome: press Ctrl + Shift + N  
• Mozilla Firefox: press Ctrl + Shift + P
• Safari: press Command + Shift + N

If the error message doesn't come up, clear the cache to resolve browser issues in QBO. You can also use a different browser and see if the issue persists there.
