Hi there kyle-plandstudio,
it's important that all your transactions are entered correctly for your books to be well balanced. QuickBooks Online is a great tool able to connect to various banking websites in order to save you time by importing transactions. I can provide some information about account currencies.
An account's currency can only be set at the time of the creation of the account, so there wouldn't be an option to change the account's currency. What would need to be done would be to disconnect the account, then recreate it in the chart of accounts with the correct currency so that you can then link it. Here are the steps to do so:
Disconnect the account
- Go to the Chart of Accounts menu.
- Scroll to the account in question, then click on the drop-down arrow in the Action column to select Edit.
- Click on the option to Disconnect at save.
- Save.
Create a new account with USD currency
- Go to the Chart of Accounts menu.
- Select New.
- Choose the correct type, detail type, and currency for the account, as well as name it.
- Save.
Link the account
- Go to the Banking tab.
- Select Link account.
- Choose the financial institution, then enter the login information for their site when prompted.
- Select the account that you've just created so the newly connected account will have a USD currency.
