Where is the Gear Icon?

Being able to use QuickBooks Online the way it was intended is one of our key focuses. I'd be happy to help you find the gear button in your QuickBooks account.

The gear in QuickBooks Online allows you to access all the settings so you can better adjust your account to suit your needs. Normally the gear icon shows in the top right hand corner of your account but if it's not showing that could be due to your browser. In order to fix this you'd first need to clear your cache and cookies and open QuickBooks Online in a private browser such as Google Chromes Incognito mode. 

If you still are not able to see the gear icon I recommend contacting our support team so they can look deeper into what could be causing this. You can reach them by using one of the following methods:

Schedule a Callback or start a Chat: click (?)Help in the upper right in QuickBooks Online > type and enter "Contact support" into the QB Assistant > click Contact Us > explain your situation > click Let's Talk > choose Get a callback or Start a Chat.
