It's great to hear from you again and to see you're still working in QuickBooks Online! I know the 2020 year made it so businesses had new kinds of entries to account for in their books, and making sure you have the right steps is important. I'll point you towards how you can figure this out.

 

There are many ways to add entries to QuickBooks Online, however, there isn't a built-in way or QuickBooks-recommended method of entering CEBA and Small Business Support Grants. For that reason, I recommend speaking with an accountant to learn the best way to do this for your books and what sorts of entries and accounts you'll need to set up to properly track it. While we do have QuickBooks Community threads you're welcome to search and read through where other users have shared suggestions for recording CEBA loans, I still recommend consulting an accountant to be sure that you've got it right.

 

I see in the past that you'd asked a question about an accountant accessing your account, so it sounds like you're working with someone already, which is great. If that's changed though and you need the steps for connecting with an accountant in QuickBooks Online again, here's how it works.

 

The My Accountant tab in QuickBooks Online is the place to go to get set up with an accountant. It's possible to invite your existing accountant as a user if you haven't already, or you can use the Find a pro to help button to research our list of QuickBooks-certified accountants near you.
