Hello useranthony,

QuickBooks Self-Employed is designed to keep things simple when it comes to entering your transactions and tracking the charges in your reporting. I'm here to help make sure that the program is working as it should so you can have confidence in your numbers moving forward.

With more detail about what you're seeing in your account and how you've been entering data, I'm confident we can get to the bottom of what's going on. I've got a few ideas to make sure that you're on track with entering this information so that it'll appear in your reports and other areas of the software.

The one thing to keep in mind with QuickBooks Self-Employed is that it uses cash accounting. What this means is that the numbers will only adjust in your account for completed transactions. For instance, if the charges you're referring to are for invoices, you'll see details about those charges once the invoice has been marked as paid. If the charges you're referring to are related to expenses, those are handled through the Transactions tab. There, you can either categorize expenses from your banking feed or you can manually enter them. Bank feeds will have to remain connected in order for those transactions to still appear in your account.

A troubleshooting step you can try if you're certain your transactions have been entered correctly is clearing the cache for your browser. This ensures that temporary Internet files aren't impacting the cloud and the way QuickBooks Self-Employed displays information. This article is for QuickBooks Online, but since we're focusing in on the steps for clearing cache in a browser, you can use it as well: Clear cache and cookies to fix issues when using QuickBooks

If what I've touched on here doesn't address your situation, I recommend connecting with the QuickBooks Self-Employed support team directly to go over this in more detail. Follow the steps below to reach a member of our team.

Have a great week!
