Question

Why doesn't my credit card bank balance update, but the transactions do?

Credit card used to work but was unlinked last month and recently relinked and hasn't downloaded a bank balance since. Cleared cache, unlinked and relinked a couple of times to see if that would do it, but no luck.

Hi robinimpey67,

Great job with the troubleshooting steps you've taken so far to get the bank feed balance to update in QuickBooks Online. Steps like clearing the cache and disconnecting and reconnecting the credit card from the feed are useful in trying to kick the program back into gear with updating your information. Since those didn't do the trick, I'll steer you in the right direction for resolving this issue.

The first thing I recommend is clicking the Update button on the feed after selecting the tile for the credit card account in question. This not only ensures that all transactions are downloaded into QuickBooks Online, but it can also help make sure that the balances and other details are up-to-date. When you click Update, the arrows should spin for a few moments or however long it takes to update the feed, and then when it's stopped, the feed will have been refreshed. Check the bank balance again to see if it's now correct. If it is, awesome!

If it's not, I recommend connecting with our support team outside of the QuickBooks Community. Doing that will give one of our team members the opportunity to review your setup with you, take you through further troubleshooting, and even check the back-end connection to make sure everything is good there.
