Why is my Canadian QBO asking for an EIN number when i try and update the account and settings

Whether it be an address or company name, being able to update your QuickBooks Online account to reflect these changes is a must. I can help go over how to make these changes with you.

When you're making changes to your account and get a message that your EIN number needs to be entered would be due to either your business number not being entered or not being correct. To enter your business number you can go to: Gear>Account and settings>Company name. From there you can click on the pencil on the right hand side and enter the business number. If you have Payroll added it could also be due to missing your CRA number. To make sure your CRA number is entered go to: Gear>Payroll Settings>Federal Taxes.
