Question

Why is there a duplicate transaction and not the actual one that my bank account shows? QBSE is wrong and I can't get it to update the transactions properly.

Hello FlightReady,

Making sure your QuickBooks Self-Employed is displaying the numbers you need is essential for having balanced books. I can appreciate how not seeing what you're expecting, including duplicate transactions, can confuse the numbers and I want to make sure you get this sorted out.

Typically, duplicate transactions happen when a transaction is manually added into the books and then added from the bank feed. In these situations, you should be good to delete the duplicate and move on with your bookkeeping. If you're not certain, I recommend checking in with an accountant or bookkeeper.

Occasionally, there are also errors with bank feed connections that cause duplicate transactions, missing transactions, or transactions to display incorrectly. It may be a simple matter of disconnecting and reconnecting the feed, but I recommend checking in with our dedicated QuickBooks Self-Employed support team to be sure.

An agent will be able to collect all the necessary details from you to learn what's going on and determine the best solution for this situation. Here's how you can reach support.

  1. Select the QB Assistant.
  2. Type and enter "talk to human" in the chat field.
  3. Follow the prompts to connect with an agent.

It's important to follow these steps as otherwise the chat is simply a bot that points you toward help articles. For this sort of situation, working with an agent is the best course of action.

Don't hesitate to reach out to that team! Have a great week.
