Hello Stuart,

It's a pleasure to have you reach out to us here. I can see the importance of being able to have your info saved while working on it. Don't worry, I'll be happy to share more info about this so you can manage your work with peace of mind.

QuickBooks offers many tools and features that allow you to stay on top of your tasks. Based on what you've described, I recommend changing the Auto Log Off option from your Account and Settings page. This feature allows for the app to automatically log you out when there's no activity on the account within a certain time period. You can increase this time by following the steps below:

  1. Click the Gear icon.
  2. Select Account and Settings.
  3. Go to the Advanced tab.
  4. Click the pencil icon to edit the Other Preferences section.
  5. Set the hour to Sign Me Out If Inactive for.
  6. Click Save and then Done.

Once you've done this, you'll be able to use the program without getting logged out before the timeframe you've specified using the steps above. You'll still have to make sure you're manually saving any changes while doing your work in order to keep the info saved on the account.

Let me know if you have additional questions, I'll be on standby in case you need anything else
