Why my connected accounts only show transactions from April and not January 1st?

You can use MT Online or one of the converter tools with a one time license (e.g csv2qbo @ $60) as a workaround.

I recommend clearing your cache and cookies, or trying a different browser, as it may be browsing data that is preventing the software from doing what it is supposed to do.
