Hello ashleyknight,

Thanks for joining us! It's great to see that you're using QuickBooks Self-Employed to help manage your books. I'll do what I can to help you out with the program.

QuickBooks Self-Employed is great for keeping track of your invoices, expenses, and mileage on the go. With what you're describing, it sounds like you want to get ahead of the game for tax time. I'm all for preparing your numbers beforehand so that when it's time to do your taxes, you can simply punch in your numbers and go.

That being said, what you're talking about here is more akin to what you'd need to consider when doing your taxes, not when it comes to tracking them. Once you've gathered all the appropriate amounts throughout the year in QuickBooks Self-Employed, you'll be able to go back at the end of the year when you do your taxes to see what you're able to write off as a work-from-home entrepreneur.

If you'd like to speak with our dedicated QuickBooks Self-Employed team about how to optimize what you're entering into the program so that things are easier for you later on, reach out here: Contact Us. On that page, click QuickBooks Self-Employed, then fill out the email form. Someone will be in touch with you regarding your questions.

I hope that helps! Enjoy the rest of your day.
