Forgotten transactions

Hi. I need help with QBO. The owner doesn't remember the transactions that entered in his bank account. How should I categorize the transactions and close the books for 2023. It is a property management company using AppFolio and a lot of deposit and withdrawals can't be found on AppFolio and they cant even remember. How to categorized these. You can import the transactions into QuickBooks Online (QBO) using a CSV (Excel) file. This will allow you to manually enter those missing data to ensure they are recorded in QBO, allowing you to close the books.

 

However, you'll need to contact either the owner's bank or AppFolio to obtain accurate transaction data. This step is crucial to ensure that all transactions are included in the file, maintaining accurate bookkeeping records.

 

After getting the file, use the format shown in the screenshot or follow the steps outlined in this article as a guide:  Format CSV Files In Excel To Get Bank Transactions Into QuickBooks Online.

 

Then, follow these steps on how to import the file:

 

  1. Go to Transactions, then select Bank transactions.
  2. Select the blue tile for the correct bank account.
  3. Click the drop-down list beside Link account▼ and select Upload from file.
  4. Select the file you downloaded from your bank. Then, click Continue.
  5. Choose the account you want to upload the transactions into. Then, select Continue.
  6. Follow the onscreen steps to match the columns on the file with the correct fields in QuickBooks. Then, select Continue.
  7. Select the transactions you like to import and choose Continue.
  8. Click Yes, then select Done.
