Hello there, Gemma.

Let me guide you through assigning a foreign currency to your clients in QuickBooks Online. You'll need to enable the Multicurrency feature to do this. Please note that if you turn on Multicurrency, you can't turn it off again.

Here's how:

  1. Go to Settings and select Account and Settings.
  2. Go to the Advanced tab.
  3. In the Currency section, click Edit.
  4. From the Home Currency dropdown, choose your currency.
  5. Turn on the Multicurrency switch and confirm that you understand that you can't undo this option.
  6. Select Save, then Done.

After that, we'll need to assign the USD currency to your clients. If you're changing a currency to an existing customer with transactions, you'll need to make them inactive and create a new one.

Please follow the steps below to assign the USD currency to a new customer:

  1. Go to Customers & Leads.
  2. Click New Customer.
  3. Under the Currency dropdown selection, choose USD United States Dollar.
  4. Enter the necessary info for your customer, then click Save.
