Question

I need to speak with a human at Quickbooks. How do I do this? The chat doesn't work either.

I have Quickbooks global and I have invited my accountant over 10 times over the past week. Morning, afternoon, evening. I have only myself and one other with access (I have 3 max on my account). He receives the emails with the link but when he clicks the link, he receives an error message.

Where is your company located?

Where does your accountant live?

I can see the urgency for adding your accountant to your QuickBooks Online (QBO) company, Catherine. I'd be glad to assist you in getting this sorted out.

Before we proceed, could you please provide additional information about the specific error message your accountant received after clicking the link? If possible, including a screenshot of the error message would be particularly helpful. It will help me identify the issue and provide a specific resolution.

To begin, this process requires your accountant's cooperation to ensure they are added to your company promptly. Kindly request their complete email address and inform your accountant that they will need to verify it through their email to confirm their access. Once verified, you can resend the invitation.

Here's how:

  1. Log in to QuickBooks Online (QBO) as the primary admin.
  2. Navigate to the Settings menu and choose Manage Users.
  3. Click on Add User, and then select Company Admin.
  4. Check the box that says, This user is my accountant. Please note that this step does not apply to Simple Start subscriptions.
  5. Proceed by clicking Next and providing the accountant's name and email address, then select Save.
  6. Your accountant will be sent an email with a link to sign into your QBO company.
  7. Your accountant will be asked to create a user ID before signing in the first time unless they already have an account with Intuit Business Services.
  8. Until your accountant signs in, their status will remain as Invited< on the Manage Users page. After accepting the invitation, their status changes to Active.
  9. Hit Next, then Finish.

I've added these articles as additional resources for managing your authorized users:

Please don't hesitate to return to this thread if you require any clarifications regarding the process of inviting an accountant to your account. I'm here to assist you. Stay safe and have a wonderful day ahead!

Thank you for these instructions. I've done them a dozen times at different times of day and different days of the week. Per your instruction, this is the error message attached.

You're welcome, catherine. I appreciate you for adding a screenshot. It helps me determine your issue and provide accurate information about it.

We found that we are currently investigating into an issue that is preventing you from accepting invitations. It indicates that users have encountered the following error message: "An unexpected problem occurred on the server during your request."

We understand the urgency of resolving this issue and want to assure you that our engineering team is actively working on it. While our engineers are looking into this, I recommend contacting our Support Team to add your company details to the affected users. Here's how:

  1. Within your QBO account, go to Help in the upper-right corner.
  2. In the Search tab, click Contact us.
  3. Enter a brief description of your concern.
  4. Click Continue.

Rest assured, we will provide an update once information is available. Stay in touch if you have more concerns. Take care and stay safe.
